Grinner Knot

The grinner knot was           developed by Dick Walker's son, and was so called because he grinned a lot, apparently....

Thread the line/braid through the eye of your swivel

T
hread the line through again, this will make for a stronger knot, effectively doubling the strength of it.

T
ake the short end of your line and form a loop, going over the top and round.

Y
our loop should proceed as seen here.

Now pass the short end through the loop four or five times, effectively tying a 4 turn knot.

S
o your loose knot looks something like this before tightening.

Start to tighten the resulting knot onto your line, at this point you can 'slide' the knot down towards your swivel.

Remember to moisten the knot before tightening fully, then trim the short end close to the swivel.
