We
all know that there are record fish out there just
waiting to pose in front of our cameras and give us
our fifteen minutes of angling fame
But if you
caught one, would you know what to do? The British
Record Fish Committee, (B.R.F.C.) tell us how
to go about it.
All
claims must be confirmed in writing to the Secretary
of the B.R.F.C.
You must state: The species caught, & the
weight.
The date & place caught, and what tackle was
used.
Names & addresses of 2 witnesses, both as to the
capture, and weight. Witness forms must be signed.
If there are no witnesses, the claimant must sign an
affidavit.
A good quality, colour picture is to be made
available.
Fish must be weighed on land.
The scales must be tested by the B.R.F.C. after
weighing.
Weights & Measures certificate must be produced,
certifying the accuracy of the scales used.
If all that
seems a little too much, your best bet is to give
the Angling Times
a ring on 01733 465 739 and they will do all the
work for you.
You can
