Casters

Casters are a cracking bait and will often pick up better fish than their first stage cousins, maggots.

Use them on the hook, added to groundbait, or loose fed.

When you buy them from your tackle shop, they are often in plastic bags, fastened tightly to keep the air out.

K
eep them in the fridge overnight to keep them cool.
Once you arrive at your fishing destination, keep them in water to stop them from going too dark.

Any that float are ideal for using on the hook as they will have extra buoyancy, and so behave more like loose fed casters in the water.
They are hooked in the same way as maggots.

You may find lightning bites from Roach in particular, causing missed bites.
In this case, bury the hook into the caster, this will increase your chances of hitting those fast bites.
